Scientifically Grounded – Practically Relevant

10+ Years of Research

The development of our technology is based on more than ten years of research, testing, and proven results. From the beginning, our goal has been the same: to enable the safe and sustainable reuse of soil and growth media—without chemicals.

While much of our early research focused on agriculture, the core principles and results are directly applicable to:

  • Steaming of soil masses in construction and landfill settings
  • Treatment and reuse of substrates in indoor farming and greenhouse production

Tested and Validated

Our technology and methodology have been tested and validated by leading research institutions in Norway and Europe, including:

  • NIBIO – Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research
  • NMBU – Norwegian University of Life Sciences
  • Lindum
  • Several international EU projects

Methodology and Technology Validation

All testing has been conducted under both controlled and real-life conditions, measuring:

  • Core temperature and humidity during steaming
  • Microbiological content before and after treatment
  • Plant health and biomass development after treatment

Studies include both classical methods (CFU, PCR, microscopy) and advanced tools such as DNA-based species identification.

Our technology has also been validated through multiple EU-funded programs, including the EIC Accelerator and Horizon 2020, where performance, sustainability, and market potential were thoroughly assessed.

Sustainability and Resource Optimization

Steaming allows for reduced climate impact and more efficient use of resources:

  • Lower demand for peat and new growth media
  • No residues or runoff to the environment
  • Lower CO₂ emissions compared to incineration or transport
  • Easy integration into circular value chains
